n8n vs Make vs Zapier in Egypt (2026): Price, Arabic, WhatsApp

Short answer: For most Egyptian SMBs in 2026, n8n is the best long-term choice because you can self-host it for the cost of a small server, pay nothing per execution, and keep customer data on infrastructure you control. Make is the easiest low-cost hosted option for non-technical teams. Zapier has the most app integrations but is usually the most expensive per step once you pay in dollars from Egypt.

Key takeaways

  • n8n bills per whole workflow run; Make bills per module action (credits); Zapier bills per successful action (tasks). For multi-step workflows this difference matters more than the sticker price.
  • At about EGP 54 per USD (20 October 2026), Make starts near EGP 490/month, Zapier Professional near EGP 1,080/month, and n8n Cloud Starter near EGP 1,150/month. Self-hosted n8n runs on a VPS costing roughly EGP 230–460/month.
  • Paying from Egypt works with most credit cards, but expect a 3–5% foreign-currency markup and bank-set monthly limits.
  • All three reach the official WhatsApp Business Platform. n8n has the deepest AI-agent tooling and is the only one you can self-host.
  • Disclosure: Delta Systems builds mostly on n8n, so weigh our view accordingly.

What is the difference between n8n, Make and Zapier?

All three are workflow automation platforms: "when X happens, do Y" across your apps, without building software from scratch. If the concept is new to you, start with our workflow automation 101 guide.

The differences are in how they bill, who hosts them, and how far they stretch:

How much do n8n, Make and Zapier cost in Egyptian pounds?

We could not load the vendors' own pricing pages from our research environment, so the figures below come from third-party pricing trackers that re-checked them between July and September 2026. Check current pricing on each official page before you buy. EGP figures use roughly EGP 54 per USD, the Central Bank of Egypt rate reported on 20 October 2026, and roughly EGP 57.5 per euro (mid-market, last verified 8 August 2026). They exclude your bank's markup.

Sources: n8n prices from Livemy (July 2026) and Jet Admin (September 2026); Make from Jet Admin (26 September 2026) and Use-Apify; Zapier from Eesel and Jet Admin. Sources disagree on whether n8n's Business tier is cloud or self-hosted, so confirm with n8n.

Why the billing unit matters more than the price

Take one realistic workflow: a new WhatsApp order arrives, then five steps run (save to Google Sheets, check stock, create an invoice, notify the warehouse, reply to the customer). At 1,000 orders a month:

  • n8n: 1,000 executions. Fits n8n Cloud Starter (2,500) with room to spare, or costs nothing extra self-hosted.
  • Make: roughly 5,000–6,000 credits (each module action counts). Fits Make Core's 10,000.
  • Zapier: roughly 5,000 tasks (each action counts). Well above Professional's 750-task entry tier, so you would need a higher task tier; check current pricing for that volume.

Can you pay for these tools with an Egyptian bank card?

Yes, in most cases, but with caveats that change often:

Limits change often, so call your bank before you subscribe.

Is self-hosting n8n on a cheap VPS a good idea?

For many Egyptian SMBs, yes, as long as someone owns the server.

Cost. Third-party guides put a small server suitable for n8n at around €4–8 per month, with 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM being the common recommendation for small production use. The real cost is time: Docker, a Postgres database, TLS, backups, updates and monitoring.

License. The Community Edition is under n8n's Sustainable Use License. Per n8n's documentation, use is limited to internal business or non-commercial purposes; you cannot sell a product whose value derives substantially from n8n, white-label it, or host it for paying users. The license FAQ says agencies may build workflows for clients and charge for setup and maintenance, as long as clients are not themselves building on a hosted n8n service. Automating your own business is squarely allowed.

Data residency. Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law 151 of 2020) now has executive regulations, issued in November 2025, with the compliance grace period ending around the end of October 2026. Cross-border transfers of personal data are restricted and, per Al Tamimi, require a PDPC licence or a statutory exception. Zapier and Make process your customer data on their own infrastructure abroad. Self-hosting n8n on a server you choose gives you far more control over where that data sits. It does not make you compliant on its own; see our Egypt data protection guide for AI chatbots and get legal advice.

How do they handle WhatsApp Business?

All three can talk to Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API):

  • n8n has a WhatsApp Trigger node for incoming messages and template updates, plus a WhatsApp Business Cloud node to send messages, templates and media. One known quirk: WhatsApp allows one webhook per app, so test and production URLs can overwrite each other.
  • Make has a WhatsApp Business Cloud app with Watch Events, send-message and template modules. It needs a dedicated number, not one already used in the WhatsApp Business app.
  • Zapier has an official WhatsApp Business integration that requires your own WhatsApp Business Account and a paid Zapier plan, because it is a premium app.

Meta's own per-message fees apply on top in every case. For high-volume chatbots, n8n's per-execution (or free, self-hosted) model is usually the most economical. Our WhatsApp bot guide for Egyptian businesses covers setup and Meta approval.

Which handles Arabic and right-to-left text best?

Arabic content flows through all three as normal text, so Arabic WhatsApp messages, Google Sheets rows and emails work fine. None of the editors is available in Arabic as far as we could verify; Zapier's help centre states the product is English-only.

In practice, Arabic issues show up in your outputs: right-to-left layout in PDF invoices and HTML emails, mixed Arabic/English numbers, and AI replies in formal MSA instead of Egyptian dialect. Those come down to your templates and prompts, not the platform.

Which is best for AI agents and LLM features?

These claims come from third-party comparisons and change fast. New to agents? Read what AI agents are and how businesses use them.

How hard is each to learn, and can you hire for it in Egypt?

Learning curve: Zapier is the easiest to start with. Make takes a few days to get comfortable with its scenario canvas, routers and iterators. n8n is the steepest, especially self-hosted, because you are also running a server; JavaScript basics help a lot.

Talent: We found no reliable data on how many automation specialists work in Egypt per tool, so we won't quote numbers. Egypt's large pool of JavaScript developers maps naturally to n8n. Whatever you choose, document your workflows so you don't depend on one freelancer.

Which one should you pick?

  • Solo founder or micro-business, no technical staff, a few simple automations: Make Core. Cheapest hosted option, generous free tier to test on.
  • Team already living in US SaaS tools (HubSpot, Notion, Calendly) and short on time: Zapier, if the task volume stays modest and the dollar bill is acceptable.
  • E-commerce, clinics, real estate or service businesses running WhatsApp at volume: n8n. Per-execution billing or self-hosting keeps costs flat as messages grow.
  • Anything handling sensitive customer data (health, finance, IDs): self-hosted n8n on a server you control, alongside proper PDPL compliance work.
  • Planning AI agents connected to internal systems: n8n, for its agent tooling and freedom to choose models.
  • Bigger teams needing SSO, audit logs and Git: compare n8n Business/Enterprise against Make Enterprise directly with sales.

How we'd approach this

Disclosure: Delta Systems builds mostly on n8n, so we lean that way. We still recommend Make or Zapier when a client has no one to own a server and a light workload.

Our usual approach is to pick one painful, measurable process, such as order confirmation or lead follow-up, and automate it as a 14-day pilot before committing to a platform for everything. Two weeks of real usage tells you more about cost and fit than any comparison table, including this one.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheapest for an Egyptian SMB: n8n, Make or Zapier?

For most Egyptian SMBs, self-hosted n8n is the cheapest at volume because the Community Edition is free and a small VPS costs roughly €4–8 a month. Without a technical person, Make is usually the cheapest hosted option, starting around $9 a month (annual billing) for 10,000 credits. Zapier is typically the most expensive per step. Prices as checked on 20 October 2026; confirm on each vendor's pricing page.

Can I pay for Zapier or Make with an Egyptian bank card?

Usually yes, with an Egyptian credit card that is enabled for foreign-currency online purchases. Banks set monthly e-commerce caps by card tier and add a foreign-currency markup, typically around 3–5%. Debit and prepaid cards at some banks, including Banque Misr, have not worked abroad since October 2023. Call your bank to confirm your card's current online foreign-currency limit before subscribing.

Is self-hosted n8n free for commercial use in Egypt?

Yes for internal business use. n8n's Sustainable Use License lets a company run the Community Edition for free to automate its own operations. What it restricts is selling n8n itself, for example hosting it so paying customers build their own workflows, or white-labelling it. Agencies may build and maintain workflows for clients. Read the license FAQ on docs.n8n.io for edge cases.

Which tool works best with WhatsApp Business in Egypt?

All three connect to Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform: n8n via its WhatsApp Trigger and WhatsApp Business Cloud nodes, Make via its WhatsApp Business Cloud app, and Zapier via its WhatsApp Business integration, which Zapier lists as a premium app. You still need a verified Meta business account and a dedicated number. n8n is usually the most cost-effective for high message volumes.

Do n8n, Make or Zapier support Arabic?

Arabic text flows through all three as normal data, so you can receive, store and send Arabic WhatsApp messages and emails. None of their editors is available in Arabic as far as we could verify; Zapier states its product is English-only. The practical Arabic challenges are in your templates, PDFs, and AI prompts, where you control right-to-left layout and Egyptian dialect, not the platform.

Which should a small Egyptian business choose first?

If you have no technical staff and fewer than a handful of simple workflows, start with Make. If you rely on niche Western SaaS apps and value speed over cost, Zapier is fine. If you expect volume, WhatsApp bots, AI agents, or care about where customer data lives, choose n8n, either self-hosted or on n8n Cloud, ideally with someone who can maintain it.
